You’re still in the oven, and it smells good.

The oven is where the good stuff happens! Can you take a moment and imagine thanksgiving dinner time when the aroma from the kitchen smells heavenly? You can almost taste the delicious dishes and meats cooking in that oven, then someone ready to eat says ” is it done yet”? The cook shouts back ” no , it’s not done yet”!

Now let’s correlate an unpleasant circumstance as the oven, you are the entrée cooking, and God is the executive chef. You could just jump out of the oven and run away from it’s temperatures, but you risk coming out undone or under cooked. Uncooked meat can make others sick and can also harm your own health in the process. God knows just what temperature to allow the oven to get to for the meal to come out just right. He also knows exactly how long it takes to make the meal of your life, and it has many delicious parts. You might think you know how long it takes to develop the meal called you, BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA because it’s not your recipe!

God looks over our lives like an executive chef and makes sure the meal comes out just as he desires. He won’t let the oven get too hot or allow the meal to be over cooked, because he cares about the details of our lives. ( Psalms 37:23)

It’s God’s heavenly recipe and it’s made him very famous! He may share with you some of the ingredients, but usually it’s his special spice that gives YOUR meal it’s authentic taste. So just as a child would stand by their parent watching them prepare the meal, we should also learn the lessons God is teaching us in the OVEN. Our oven experiences gives us insight to encourage others that are going through similar trials.

Remember the hot places that create greater faith are more valuable than GOLD!
1 Peter 1:6-7
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though your faith is far more precious than mere gold.
